To support the education of the girl child in the state, the chief minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, Launched The Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Scheme. Under the scheme, the government provides a monthly stipend to girls’ students from class 11 to post graduation. This will help to reduce the rate of child marriage in the state and encourage the families of girls to educate them for a better future.  There are so many girls in Assam who have left their schools and colleges due to a lack of money. Eligibility For Girls

• The permanent domicile of the Assam state is eligible.
• Only the girl child from the family will get this financial assistance every month.
• Students from any cast religion are eligible.
• The scheme is eligible from class 11th to a postgraduate degree.
• The students of class 11th are eligible for the rupees 1000 financial assistance every month.

Excluded Students

• The Married girls are excluded from the scheme.
• The children of MLAs, MPS, and other ministers are not able to receive this financial assistance.
• Those students who have received benefits from the other scheme are excluded.
• Financial assistant distribution for higher secondary, undergraduate and post-graduate students:
• Higher secondary girls will get rupees 1000 every month under the scheme.
• Undergraduate students will get rupees 1250 every month.
• The girls who are pursuing the postgraduate courses will get rupees 2500 every month.

Latest Update

The Assam chief minister rolled out this scheme again on 28 February 2026. In the recent announcement, they mentioned that 2.5  lakh females from Assam have already benefited under the scheme. Now they have extended the scheme to more girls in the state. This will help to maintain the retention of girls in the educational institute and eradicate child marriage.

The government also mention that this scheme is not applicable for June and July every year. And the student will get financial assistance only for the 10 months.

• All the girls students who are eligible as per the guidelines mentioned in this article need to contacts there respective institutions in which they are currently studying.
• The institute provides you with the application form.
• In the application form, the girls need to mention all the details correctly and completely.
• Once you are done with the application form filling process, then attach all the require document with the application form.
• Then, finally, submit your application to the registrar and principal of your institution.
• They will further verify your details with the help of a dedicated portal.
• They will fill in all the information in the portal for the auto verification.
• After the verification process, the Eligible students will be able to get financial assistance every month directly into their bank account directly.

Note: There is no need for the student to submit the Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Scheme application form again for their second year. Only the need for certification stating that the student continues their course at the institution will be sufficient to continue the benefit.
