The Assam chief minister rolled out this scheme again on 28 February 2026. In the recent announcement, they mentioned that 2.5  lakh females from Assam have already benefited under the scheme. Now they have extended the scheme to more girls in the state. This will help to maintain the retention of girls in the educational institute and eradicate child marriage.

The government also mention that this scheme is not applicable for June and July every year. And the student will get financial assistance only for the 10 months.
