Matri Pitri Vandana 2026 Assam, Date and How to Get Special Casual Leave

The Assam chief minister provides special casual leave for the Government employees under their new welfare scheme named “Matri Pitri Vandana”. The scheme was launched in September 2025, when the government allowed all employees to get 4 casual leaves in November. The benefit of the scheme has already been availed of from 14 November to 15 in 2025 by the Government employees. This is a great initiative where the government provides quality time with their parents. As per the official notification, the government has fixed the dates for the casual leaves. Matri Pitri Vandana 2026 Assam

The government launched the scheme to encourage government employees to make strong bonds with their family members and in-laws. The government provide two days of special casual leave. The employees can also join these casual leaves with other holidays, like 2nd and 4th Saturdays and Sundays. This scheme specially help those Government employees who live in remote areas or are distant from their parents and children. Eligibility Criteria

• All the permanent residents of Assam are eligible.
• The government provide this opportunity of special casual leave only for the Government employees.
• The private employees are not eligible for the scheme.
• Employees with no living parents and parents-in-law are not eligible for the special casual leave.
• The government will not provide any TA/DA for the special casual leave.
• The Government employees from the police, fire, emergency disaster management, and health departments are only able to get 2 days of special casual leave.
• Only the one fourth Government employees from these departments are eligible to get casual leaves at a time.

• The government and the department will take strict action against those who fabricate documents and provide false information to be aware of the benefits of the Matri Pitri Vandana government initiative.
• The government will also take strict action for misusing the special casual leaves under the scheme.
• Those who will avail the benefit of the skin must provide or upload the self-declaration form.
• All employees need to upload the photographs with their unique ID given by the department.
• The photograph should be taken during the period of casual leave and must include the GPS location.
• It is mandatory to upload photographs of parents for the final approval.

How to Get Special Casual Leaves in Assam?

• Firstly, all the Government employees must open the official matripitrivandana.assam.gov.in website.
• Under this website, you will see login and registration options.
• Before proceeding with the registration process, you must check the notification and SOP given by the government to avail the benefit of the scheme.
• Once you are done with all the information, proceed with the Registration procedure.
• Firstly, enter your first name, middle name, father’s name, mother’s name, mobile number, date of birth, and gender for the personal information.
• Then enter the official information, like your department name,e office designation, the name of the concerned head, and select the district.
• After this, upload documents and password-sized photographs in JPEG and JPG format only.
• Then click on the register button.
• After this, you will get the approval for your casual leave.

How to Upload Photographs on the Matri Pitri Vandana Portal?

• After you spend your casual leaves, you need to upload the proof of photograph with your parents.
• For that, you need to log in with your registered mobile number.
• Then they will send the OTP to your registered mobile number.
• On your dashboard, click on the upload photo link.
• Choose to photograph from your gallery with your parents.
• You also need to upload a photocopy of the leave application signed by the higher authorities.
• Make sure you upload all the photographs in a prescribed format.
