The government announced the scheme in January 2026 and transferred the money directly into the bank accounts of 6 beneficiaries. The scheme was implemented in 27 districts and 73 Legislative Assembly Constituencies in Assam, where all the tea garden workers are included. Eligible Workers
- The worker should be a permanent resident of Assam state.
- The scheme offered financial help to only those who are registered employees of the tea garden.
- The beneficiary must have Aadhar link bank account in a commercial bank of the Scheduled class.
Who is not eligible?
- The owner of the tea garden and the management staff are not eligible.
- Income tax paying applicant is also not eligible.
- Government employees are also excluded.
- If you have already received such financial help from the state government, then you are not eligible.
- Any contractual employee in any government department is not eligible.

Financial Assistance Transfer Details
- All the beneficiaries who are eligible as per the guidelines of the state government must contact the tea garden management, and they will add your name to the eligible Candidate List.
- The management will submit the list of all the tea garden workers to the district-level implementation committee, and then they will verify this on the official portal.
- Once the verification is done with Aadhar details and other information of the tea workers, then they will approve your application.
- All the selected and approved beneficiaries will get rupees 5000 in their bank account.
